Marissa Hunter

Marissa is a registered nurse, mom of two, and co-founder of Coastal Moms IV Hydration & Wellness. A Delmar High School graduate and a member of the Delmarva community, creating Coastal Moms is especially meaningful to her. Coastal Moms was built with a simple goal: to provide high-quality care that feels more convenient, personal, and patient-centered. For Marissa, it is an opportunity to combine the clinical standards she values as a nurse with the kind of healthcare experience she would want for herself and her own family.

After graduating from Delmar High School, Marissa earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Swarthmore College before returning home to earn her nursing degree from Salisbury University. She has worked as a registered nurse since 2019, with experience spanning critical care, inpatient behavioral health, and clinical research. Her diverse clinical background has shaped her approach to patient care, with an emphasis on safety, evidence-based practice, and treating each patient as an individual.

Marissa is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing at Walden University to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her professional interests include clinical research and mental health, with a particular interest in perinatal and postpartum mental health. She is especially interested in translating evidence-based practices into care that is practical, individualized, and responsive to patients’ needs. 

Above all, Marissa loves being a mom to her two young daughters, who are huge motivators behind Coastal Moms IV Hydration & Wellness. She hopes to build a business that she, and one day her daughters, can be proud of while also creating a career that allows her to be the present, hands-on mom she wants to be. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
